Claire is a highly accomplished occupational therapist, case manager and expert witness with a broad range of experience across multiple physical and mental health specialities.

Since qualifying as an occupational therapist in 2003, Claire has worked within a wide variety of settings, including acute inpatient and A&E, as well as within the community. She is also highly experienced in working within medium secure hospitals and has developed a particular specialism in mental health. Claire has extensive experience in working with people with depression, anxiety, psychosis, PTSD and personality disorders. She is adept and confident in managing individuals who present with challenging behaviours.

Claire prides herself in her holistic and empathic approach to her clients and always works within a recovery-focused model. She recognises the crucial role that carers and families can play in the recovery process, and will always encourage their support within a client’s rehabilitation. Claire’s excellent interpersonal communication skills, combined with outstanding supervision, prioritisation and time management capabilities ensure that she is quickly able to effectively build an excellent working relationship with her clients, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams. Claire’s extensive experience of multiagency working enables her to understand and identify the services which can be provided within both the statutory and voluntary sectors, and is particularly skilled at securing scarce resources.

Claire has an excellent writing style; she produces professional, concise and detailed reports and statements. She has a sound understanding of the litigation sector and is a care and occupational therapy expert witness with formal training in the medicolegal process.
