Fiona is a highly accomplished and well-motivated occupational therapist and case manager who specialises in community rehabilitation.

Having qualified as an occupational therapist in 1996, Fiona has gained a wealth of experience and specialist knowledge in providing services for adults and older people. She specialises in working with adults whose lives have been affected by various difficulties, including the ageing process, poor memory, arthritis, falls, frailty, Parkinson’s Disease, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and Huntington’s Disease; she has developed a particular interest in the area of dementia. In 2005 Fiona was awarded an MSc in Gerontology (the psychosocial, cognitive and biological study of the aspects of ageing) and has gone on to develop specialist knowledge regarding how these factors can impact upon issues faced by older people.

More recently, Fiona has been involved heavily in intermediate care and has been instrumental in the development of complex multi-agency discharge plans.

Fiona is outstanding both organisationally and communicatively; she liaises effectively with her clients, their families, and the various professionals, services and agencies involved in their care and in doing so consistently secures the best possible results for her clients. She also has wide-ranging experience and knowledge of aids, equipment and minor adaptations.

Fiona provides holistic and detailed assessments of her clients’ care needs. She is outstanding in her ability to develop rehabilitation programmes and in recommending care packages to meet their ongoing needs. Clerically, Fiona provides well-written, detailed and informative reports.
