Fiona is a highly experienced occupational therapist and a case manager. Since qualifying as an occupational therapist in 1989 she has worked across a broad range of clinical fields within the NHS, including orthopaedics, lower limb amputations, stroke, acquired head injuries, spinal injuries, medicine, and care of the elderly. In this time, she has become highly proficient at activity modification, fatigue management and relaxation techniques, splinting, dealing with wheelchair prescriptions, and equipment provision.

Most recently, Fiona has been clinical team lead, delivering a community-based specialist adult outpatient musculoskeletal service for patients with hand injuries and long-term conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. She has extensive experience of having worked within numerous multidisciplinary teams throughout her career. As such, cooperative working with other professionals is second nature for Fiona.

Fiona draws on her excellent organisational and communication skills when liaising with her clients, their families, and the various professionals, services and agencies involved in their care, and this helps to ensure the best possible outcomes for her clients. She is passionate about empowering her clients to maximise their functional capabilities. Steadfastly professional and compassionate, Fiona utilises her creative capabilities and problem-solving skills to think outside the box in facilitating their functional independence and wellbeing. Employing a respectful person-centred, holistic approach, she prides herself on the quality of the service she provides, particularly when undertaking home visits and carrying out assessments. From a clerical perspective, Fiona provides excellent, detailed and informative reports.
