Sam Gately

Case Manager & OT

Sam is an experienced Occupational Therapist with over 18 years of clinical practice working with children and adults with a range of complex physical, learning and mental health needs.   

Sam has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, assessment and treatment units, forensic and secure settings, child protection, residential care and education, mental health and substance misuse services, homeless services and within the community. Sam has worked extensively with individuals who are neurodiverse and is also a trustee of APCymru.  

Sam is an advocate for early intervention and family support. Over the past 13 years Sam has developed and runs her own organisation working with families and young people experiencing adversity and significant challenges within their daily lives. Sam coordinates and delivers packages of support, bridging the gap between social services, education and health to strengthen and improve quality of life. 

Sam has worked overseas and been involved in projects in a range of countries including Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Moldova, Croatia and Belarus. These experiences have further strengthened Sam’s passion to support individuals to recognise their strengths and instill the confidence and drive to meet them. 

Sam works creatively and practically and uses the natural environment where possible to support and enhance intervention and outcomes. Sam holds the individual at the heart of all her practice. Sam has post graduate training in Sensory Attachment Intervention and is currently working towards L1 Accreditation.
