We’re delighted to share the news that we have welcomed an influx of experienced and popular case managers into our family and have expanded our operations team to enhance our support for clients, legal professionals and deputies across the UK.

While our focus is to expand our team organically, we identified some new roles within our operations team and have been able to welcome three new members of the Stokes HQ team, who are based in Sussex (when not working remotely), along with 10 new case managers!

Six of our new Case Managers join us from Brain Injury Services (BIS) – a company that Rhiannon Stokes, our Managing Director, had been supporting for the majority of 2020 as a Clinical Lead. Brain Injury Services has now closed and those who joined Stokes have focused on supporting their clients through the transition. Scroll down to meet all our new case managers and those joining our leadership and operations team!

Rhiannon said:

“We’ve added some fantastic, targeted support for our Case Managers through our expanded operations team which has also been well received by the litigators and deputies we work with. it’s also been great to expand into the South East of England and look forward to opening the office doors to professionals and clients when it’s safe to do so!

“Our multi-award winning team has now expanded in both case management capacity and operational support but we’re still focused on dong this organically – to grow our team where it adds value to our clients and legal professionals. That’s why we’re so pleased to welcome our new case managers who all bring with them a shared passion for a fresh and highly creative approach to case management, and a ‘can-do’ attitude to further our support for individuals with brain, spinal and complex injuries, across the UK.”

New opportunities, despite the pandemic

This year has been tough for everyone. We’ve all had to juggle professional and personal worries stay tuned into the wellbeing needs of clients, our colleagues and the professionals we work alongside.

We created new risk assessments which were a movable feast as the restrictions progressed – which varies between the UK nations and also at a county level within nations.

At the end of January, our entire team have had or are scheduled to have the first Covid-19 vaccine to keep our clients, our team and support workers safe.

We also shared our data on how different health boards process vaccine requests with CMSUK –  and any challenges we may have faced. CMSUK can now share this information across the Case Management industry to help our peers and their clients.

“I’m very proud of the whole team who stayed calm and kept our clients safe, motivated and supported throughout,” said Rhiannon, adding:

"The pandemic has given us a fantastic opportunity to stand back and remould the operational team as well as the Clinical Supervision team, which now includes Sunneva Thorpe, Tracy Holcroft and Kate Lewis as Clinical Supervisors, as well as Daren Thorpe, our Consultant in Quality Assurance."

Award-winning, regulated approach

It’s been a busy year at Stokes Case Management. Alongside the transition of BIS and our hard working to ensure our new team members feel at home and engaged with our vision and values for clients, trustees and legal professionals, we’ve welcome other new professionals, worked creatively to support our existing clients and supported our new clients as we’ve assessed their needs and welcomed them to our case management family during lockdown.

In the first few weeks of lockdown, SCM was assessed and approved by both the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for our work in England and the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) for our work in Wales.

In September 2020, we were named ‘Service Professionals Team of the Year’ at the Wales Legal Awards 2020, where we faced strong competition from IFAs, compliance consultants and others. We’re incredibly proud of the judges’ comments (below) as their words suggest they were impressed with our values, our reputation and the value we bring to litigation and deputy teams, as well as to our clients.
